Travis Scott: a documentary arrives on the tragedy of Astroworld
The life of Travis Scott and thousands of other people changed on the night of November 5, 2021at the Astroworld Festival organized by the rapper in his hometown, Houston. The event caused the death of 10 participants and hundreds of injuries following a wave of the crowd. Entitled “The Astroworld Tragedy”, the new documentary, which can be seen on Netflixwill explore the failures of the concert from the point of view of those who have found themselves in the center of chaos, with the contribution of survivors, family members in mourning, paramedics and safety guards. The first episode of the series will arrive on June 10th.
Yemi Bamiro is aboard the project as a director of “The Astroworld Tragedy”, while Hannah Poulter will be a co-journal and producer. Eight people died on site in November 2021 and the legal doctors of Harris County confirmed that two other people died due to the injuries sustained a few days later. The official cause of the death was compression asphyxiation- the victims were between 9 and 27 years old. In total, about 50,000 people participated in the Festival. The rest of the “Trainwreck” series is destined to deepen other disasters, including “political scandals, media buffaloes, companies similar to seven and debacle in reality shows”, according to the press release reports. The episodes following “The Astroworld Tragedy” will be published by Netflix in the following seven weeks, concluding the cycle of episodes July 29th.
