Tool whistled for a disappointing set to their own festival

Last weekend, in the Dominican Republic, the first festival organized by the tools in an exotic location took place. However, as evidenced by the videos and comments of the fans shared on the net, it seems that the band was whistled at the end of her second concert for not having respected the promise to perform “two unique sets”.

The “Tool in the Sand Festival” in Punta Cana began on Friday 7 March, with the band that should have performed for two consecutive evenings, such as headliner of a billboard that also included Primus, Coheed and Cambria, Mastodon and others. It seems that the performance of the first evening (March 7) was well welcomed by the public, with a set of 10 songs that included songs from all five albums in the studio of the training led by Maynard James Keenan, including classics such as “Schism”, “Sinkfist” and “Vicarious”. The disappointment came at the end of the second show, Saturday 8 March, when the tools played only nine pieces, four of which already performed the previous evening (“Fear Inoculum”, “Jambi”, “Pneuma” and “Rosetta Stoned”).

In some clips shared on social media, especially on Reddit, they seem to show fan that whistle the band, shout insults and make the gesture of the middle finger.

In addition, a series of comments on social media suggests that the public was not only irritated by the repetition of the songs, but also with a relatively short duration of the set. On Reddit, a fan wrote: “Friday evening was incredible, but Saturday was a disappointment in terms of durability, variety and style. The main reason why I participated was to see two different sets and then return comfortably to the hotel “. Another user commented on the band’s Facebook page: “Goodbye to the promise of the ‘two unique sets”. Another added: “And they also finished 30 minutes earlier tonight. If I hated the Tool fans, I would do exactly that. It is disconcerting how disconnected they are. I think it is more than a simple rip -off: it is a violation of the contract, and there must be a refund for this evening. Unacceptable. At least the Primus split, and the other bands were fantastic. Tools are my favorite band, and I’m speechless for what they did after all this hype ”. Technically, the band has played two different sets, in the sense that they were not identical, but it seems that some fans expected completely unpublished stairs, without repetitions – as the metal are currently doing on the “M72 World Tour” tour, in which they offer completely different sets in the cities in which they play for two evenings. .

The tools, recorded at “Fear Inoculum” of 2019, will return to the stage this spring for their first concerts in South America, as well as some dates in Mexico. From April Maynard James Keenan will also be engaged on the “Sixty V2.0” tour, together with his other projects, in Perfect Circle and Puscifer, in addition to the Primus.
