Tomorrowland, stage reconstructed in 24h (thanks to the metallic)
When on Wednesday evening a fire destroyed the Tomorrowland main internship, less than 48 hours after the start of the festival, it was feared that the 2025 edition of the most famous dance event in the world was destined to jump. The organization denied after a few hours, announcing that the Dreamville campsite would be opened on schedule, also declaring that it was at work to find a solution for the main stage. Tomorrowland began regularly yesterday, Friday evening, and in less than 24 hours the organizers managed to reconstruct an alternative stage – with the help of the metal.
According to DJ Mag, the new main stage was built using some of the structures of the recent European tour of the American band: the organizers of Tomorrowland would have received direct support of the technical staff of the metal, which has made available parts of the scenography and the audio/light systems used in their “M72 World Tour”, which has recently been concluded. A collaboration made possible also by the geographical proximity of the material and by the logistical compatibility of the structures, designed to be mounted and disassembled quickly. The result is a functional structure, different from the spectacular style typical of Tomorrowland, but still able to host the show.
The organization spoke of “unprecedented collective effort”, thanking partners, technicians and collaborators, including the Metallica team, for allowing “to transform a potential tragedy into a new beginning”.
The cause of the fire that destroyed the original main stage on Wednesday evening, when the area was not yet open to the public, remains unknown. Fortunately, there were no injuries.
