Tom Morello will be a guest on every date of Springsteen’s tour

Tom Morello will join Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band at every show of the upcoming “Land of Hope and Dreams” U.S. tour, announced last week by the Boss: 19 arena and stadium dates, starting in Minneapolis on March 31 and concluding in Washington on May 27.

Morello’s presence confirms the strong political connotation of the tour, already announced by the anti-ICE song “Streets Of Minneapolis” and by the words of Springsteen himself: “We are living in dark, disturbing and dangerous times, but don’t despair: the cavalry is coming!”.

Speaking about his participation in the “Land Of Hope And Dreams” tour, Morello said:

It reminded me how important our platform is and how crucial the resistance work our music can do together in this dangerous moment in history. Together, Bruce, the E Street Band and I will shine a spotlight on the current threats to democracy and human rights occurring around us during the “Land of Hope & Dreams American Tour”, in the spirit of freedom, justice and rock ‘n’ roll.

Morello and Springsteen have already found themselves on the same stage recently, on January 30, at the concert at First Avenue in Minneapolis, where the Boss performed “Streets of Minneapolis” live for the first time. There collaboration between the two it dates back to at least 2008, when the guitarist took the stage with the E Street Band and reached its peak when Morello temporarily replaced Steven Van Zandt in the band in 2013. Already in the 90s, with Rage Against the Machine, Morello played “The Ghost of Tom Joad”, Springsteen’s song inspired by John Steinbeck’s “Furore”. The guitarist also appears on the albums “Wrecking Ball” and “High Hopes”, as the Boss appears on 2021’s “The Atlas Underground Fire”.
