The frontman of Bon Jovi, Jon Bon Jovi, has compiled his 'honest playlist', a list of songs that have meaning for him. One of those songs was composed by Don Henley of the Eaglesthe New Jersey rocker does not hesitate to declare that he really wished he had written it.

In an interview given to the British newspaper The Guardian, Jon Bon Jovi he revealed what the song resonated inside him and he remembered having encountered Don Henley to tell him that he wished he had written that song: “The lyrics and melody of Don Henley's “The Boys of Summer” have always resonated with me.

Last week I met Don, put my arm around him after he had just sung that song and said, 'I really wish I wrote that.'”

But the song that changed his life was written by a musician from his own state,
Bruce Springsteen
. “'Born to Run' by Bruce Springsteen. I grew up in New Jersey, so the E Street Band was how you got indoctrinated into rock 'n' roll: they were the local heroes.”
