There’s a ‘Lord of the Rings’ star in the Beatles movie
There are still two years left until the release of the four films dedicated to Beatlesbut the anticipation is already palpable. Any clue about the cast or behind the scenes of Sam Mendes’ ambitious film project is immediately devoured by Fab Four fans. We have already talked about the first images of the four actors chosen to play John Lennon, Paul McCartney, Ringo Starr and George Harrison; now we know who will play Lennon’s first wife.
It’s about Morfydd Clarkbest known for her role in the series “The Rings of Power“, in which she plays the elf Galadriel in the spin-off series of “Lord of the Rings”. Clark will play Cynthia Lennon, the first wife of John, played in the biopic by Harris Dickinson.
John and Cynthia, who died of cancer in 2015, met at Liverpool art school and were married from 1962 to 1968. Their son, singer-songwriter Julian Lennon, was born in 1963, but the couple separated after Cynthia discovered her husband’s affair with Yoko Ono.
With Dickinson, Paul Mescal, Barry Keoghan And Joseph Quinnthe four films will follow the life and career of the Liverpool band from the point of view of each musician. Also among the new cast members announced are Harry Lawtey (who will play Stuart Sutcliffe, the band’s original bassist before his departure in 1961), and the “Bohemian Rhapsody” star Lucy Boynton (who will play Paul McCartney’s girlfriend, Jane Asher, who broke off their engagement during a TV interview). Farhan Akhtar he will instead take on the role of the Indian composer Ravi Shankar.
