The War And Treaty, between blues and soul

The duo of The War And Treaty was born in 2014 and is made up of the husband and wife duo, Michael Trotter Jr. and Tanya Blount Trotter. Their music can be combined with various musical genres: blues, gospel, soul, bluegrass, country, jazz.

The first album by The War And Treaty, “Healing Tide”was released in August 2018. All the songs on the album are signed by Michael Trotterwhile the production is by Buddy Miller. In one song, “Here Is Where the Loving Is At”participate Emmylou Harris.

In 2020 the Trotters released their second album, “Heartstown”which has in “Five more minutes” his luckiest song. 2023 is an important year for The War And Treaty. In March they release their (for now) latest album entitled “Lover's Game”, the first released by a major label, UMG Nashville. In August the country singer Zach Bryan comes out with the album of the same name, reaching first place in the US charts, i The War And Treaty they collaborate on that record on the song “Hey Driver” which reached the 14th position on the singles chart, marking their first entry into the top 20 of the charts.

Capping a year to remember, in 2023, they became the first Black duo to be nominated for the Country Music Association Award in the Duo of the Year category. They also received two nominations at the 66th Annual Grammy Awards, including Best New Artist. And again: a biopic based on their lives is in the works whose release date has not yet been announced.

THE The War And Treaty they are really rapidly rising and live their quality is demonstrated by the fact that they have opened the lives of artists of the level of Al Green, Brandi Carlile, Jason Isbell, John Legend and Van Morrison. The duo will also be the protagonists in concert in Italy next year July 7 to Comfort Festival, which will be held at the Nuova Darsena in Ferrarawith Gaslight Anthem, Gary Clark Jr., Rival Sons and Southside Johnny and the Asbury Jukes. Their latest single is “Stealing a kiss”.
