"I'm retiring, actually no": the farewell tours that weren't farewell

The tribute to Ace Freheley at the Kiss reunion

As announced, the entire Kiss – in the last line-up – met in Las Vegas, after the end of the 2023 tour in which they announced the stop at the venue. The “Unmasked” concerts, one acoustic and one electric, take place as part of an event that celebrates the 50th anniversary of the Kiss Army, the official fan club of the group, with Eric Singer Gene Simmons, Paul Stanley and Tommy Thayer engaged in performances, meetings with fans together, musical games. Also planned over the weekend was a tribute to the group’s original guitarist, Ace Frehley, who passed away last month and left the group (for the second time) in 2002.

During the first concert, fans were given electric candles and an invitation to think “of someone who is at the foundation of this band. We’re talking about Ace Sure, we had our differences, but that’s what family is all about. Why don’t we take a moment and imagine him looking down on us?”
This is the video projected in memory of the musician

‘Hard Luck Woman’
‘Christine Sixteen’
‘Nothin’ to Lose’
‘Goin’ Blind’
