The Theater of Horrors: a possible reunion?
In June 2020 with a post on Facebook, taken from the de website The Theater of Horrors Pierpaolo Capovillathe band’s frontman, announced the end of the project.
However, it had already been a few years since the group had produced new material. Their latest, fourth album, was the self-titled “Teatro degli Orrori” and dates back to 2015.
Today, with a reel on Facebook, the band hints at the possibility of a return and postpones the appointment for communication to Monday 14 October. The video posted is a set, with very quick editing, of images of the band both in the studio and on stage.
The group was born in Marghera (industrial district of Venice) in 2005. Forming the band (which takes its name from the theatrical formula of the Theater of Cruelty created by the French playwright and actor Antonin Artaud) are Pierpaolo Capovillaon vocals and bass, Francesco “Franz” Valente on drums (both from Dimensional Man) and Jonathan Mirai (formerly in Super Elastic Bubble Plastic) on guitar. It adds to them Giulio “Ragno” Favero (former guitarist and artistic producer of One Dimensional Man). His entry as a bassist allows Capovilla to concentrate only on the voice.
The band, characterized by a powerful rock with great attention to lyrics and content, made its recording debut in 2007 with the album “Dell’Impero delle Tenebre” (published by the La Tempesta label headed by Tre Allegri Ragazzi Morti). That album was followed by three more in the studio (2008, 2012, 2015), plus in 2012 a live album (editorial combination with La Repubblica) and two EPs (2008 and 2010 – another editorial combination again with the Roman newspaper).
In 2014 the frontman Pierpaolo Capovilla he made his solo debut with the album “Obtorto collo” followed in 2022 by the album “Pierpaolo Capovilla ei Cattivi Maestri“
