The soundtrack of the biopic on Amy Winehouse will be online on April 12th

“Back To Black”, the film by the director and visual artist Sam Taylor Johnson based on the life of Amy Winehousewill be available in Italian cinemas starting from 18 April 2024.

Tracing Winehouse's personal and professional life and her rise to fame, Taylor-Johnson directs the young actress Marisa Abela as Amy Winehouse. Together with Abela there are Jack O'Connell, Eddie Marsan, Juliet Cowan and nominated for an Oscar and a Golden Globe Lesley Manville.

The film focuses on the genius and creativity of Amy Winehouse and her honesty that she applied to everything she did. Amy Winehouse (also “member” of the “club 27”) is considered one of the greatest artists in recent history. You have sold more than 30 million records worldwide and today exceed 80 million monthly streams. With her 2006 album “Back to Black” won 5 Grammy Awards, including Album of the Year and Song of the Year (the single “Rehab”).

Obviously music finds great space in the film with an important soundtrack made up of 12 tracks. Three original songs are taken from Amy's debut album, “Frank”, three songs taken from award-winning”Back to Black” and one is an unreleased track, “Song for Amy”, played by Nick Cave. The film's original music was composed and recorded by Nick Cave and Warren Ellis.

Included on the album are five additional tracks from artists who have been inspirational to Amy: The Shangri-Las, Billie Holiday, Minnie Riperton, Dinah Washington and Sarah Vaughan, whose voices appear during some scenes of the film.

Back To Black: Songs from the Original Motion Picture” will be available on 140g black vinyl, limited edition peach vinyl (Universal store exclusive), double vinyl, CD and double CD. The double formats will include some black and white photographs from the film set taken by the director himself during filming. The physical formats – already pre-orderable – will be made available from May 19th.

The digital version of the album will be available on all platforms starting April 12th.
