The November issue of Mondo Sonoro is now on the streets

We have started the distribution of the November issue of Mondo Sonoro. Copies that have on the cover Alcalá Norte, on the occasion of the release of his second full-length “Let’s leave it as it was.”.

“Let’s leave it as it was.” (Balaunka, 26) is the long-awaited return of the Madrid band after the earthquake caused by their debut. An album with which they reinforce that unique character that has made them benchmarks on the national scene in record time.

The songs come when they want. They don’t understand anniversaries, promotional calendars or market strategies. Maybe that’s why The Enemies It took them six years to come back with “Cool songs” (Mushroom Pillow, 26), an album whose title seems like a private joke, but which ends up functioning as an involuntary manifesto about everything that the band continues to defend four decades after its beginnings.

Fat Dogone of the sensations of the new British scene, establishes itself with its brilliant second album. “Cancel Me, I’m Tired” (Domino/Music As Usual, 26) shows a plethora of bands handling registers as different as they were unexpected. And the thing works more than well.

Royal Blood They decided to discreetly disappear in August 2024 after a decade of uninterrupted activity. Without much fanfare or epilogues, Mike Kerr and Ben Thatcher barricaded themselves in their native Brighton to dedicate time to the more ordinary side of life. Paradoxically, this has allowed them to conceive “Dead Company” (Imperial Galactic/Warner, 26), his rawest disco comeback.

Return to the place where it all began, stay with the essentials. Nothing But Thieves launch now “Stray Dogs” (Sony, 26), their fifth album, to reconnect with the origin that made them the band they are today. A work in which to talk about imperfect human nature, successes and failures. With which to pay tribute to that great community of fans who have built around their career.

The disappearance of oneself, the cancellation. How difficult, how complicated it is to get out of something like this. Anni B Sweet has gone through a terrible period of pain and darkness that he finally overcame thanks to music and that has given rise to this “Happiness” (Subterfuge, 26).

Toundra They are an instrumental rock institution in our country and with a rare international projection for a long time. Now the Madrid quartet restarts with its most adventurous album, “Seven” (Strelka Recordings, 26).

It seemed appropriate to review the early stages of his career through a compilation of primeval rarities to understand where he was heading now. This Is Lorelei. With the roadmap recalculated, Nate Amos now offers his project to the roots of bluegrass with “The Singer In My Band” (Matador/Popstock!, 26).

After going on stage at Sonorama, Pedagogical Host faces the publication of his debut album, “Homo Lamenttabilis” (Limbo Starr, 26). “Live analogue sarcasm”is how the group defines an album with which they join the effervescent Barcelona underground scene.

And that’s it, everything that concerns our most extensive interviews, although you will also find articles from other artists such as Los Acebos, Sports, Razorlight or Weezer, as well as our usual sections dedicated to reviews of albums, comics, books, series, movies and podcasts.
