There is a possibility that The Who will retire

The new WHO drummer, Scott Devours, presents himself

As we wrote yesterday, The waters are agitated in the Who house. To shake the life of the band was the pull and spring that concerned the drummer Zak Starkeyowner of the group’s skins since 1996. First apparently fired, a few days later summarized and, finally, fired again. To replace it behind the drums of the legendary English band will be Scott Devours which via social media has shared his first public declaration on his new prestigious assignment.

This is the long message published by Devours on Facebook: “Yesterday, with a short and simple post on Instagram, Pete and Roger, once again, they changed my life forever. It is difficult to express the tsunami of emotions that I have been elaborating since I received that incredible news, but there are a couple of things that I feel compelled to say. The first is that I have to thank the whole family, friends and fans for the countless and email messages of enthusiasm. Please accept this group: “Thanks”. This loss with the heavy heart is truly a strange contradiction of emotions to see the most important moment of my professional career also framed by a certain sadness and clouded by someone else’s loss.

He then continued explaining again: “I imagine that reality is this: I am sure that many fans will not accept me or no one else on that throne, except Zak. I know that it will be so for some and I recognize it. For others, perhaps the jury has not yet expressed itself. Maybe I will have to let music speak? In my world, there are no bigger shoes to fill with those behind Pete and Roger. That I want to say to all fans is that I will do everything possible to honor the legacy of the Who, Zak, Kenney Jones, Simon Phillips and the memory of the great Keith Moon. Songs never written, I will dedicate every second of my time, every beat of my heart and every drop of my sweat and blood.

It will not be a total debut for him, already in 2013 Scott Devours he played with the Whoho to replace Starkey. For some time, then, he was the drummer with the solo band of Roger Daltrey. After American concerts, the British band will return to Europe and will also be in Italy for two concerts: On July 20 at the Euganeo stadium in Padua and on 22 July at the Snai San Siro Hippodrome in Milan.
