The metal against the US government for “Enter Sandman”
The Metallica managed to obtain the removal of a video published on social media by the Pentagon containing the hit of the band “Enter Sandman”. Last Friday the US Department of Defense published on X – former Twitter – a video in which The defense secretary Pete Hegseth promoted the military skills of the country in the field of drones and did it on the notes of the group’s workhorse, dated 1991. But the video did not remain online for a long time.
The Metallica accused the Pentagon of having used “Enter Sandman” without having the authorization, pushing the US government to withdraw the previously published video and replace it with another clip, this time without “Enter Sandman” in the background.
A spokesman for the Pentagon said: “This afternoon, the X representatives contacted the Department of Defense regarding a video published on our social page and asked that it was removed due to a copyright problem with the song ‘Enter Sandman’ of the Metallica. The video was removed, correct and reloaded on our page”.
