The memory of Iron Maiden and Steve Harris for Paul Di’Anno
Following the news of the passing of Paul Di’Anno, lead singer of Iron Maiden between 1978 and 1981, the historic band and founder Steve Harris shared a long message on social media in honor of the late musician.
“With great sadness we learn of the passing of Paul Di’Anno, which occurred this morning, we read in the post: “Paul’s contribution to Iron Maiden was immense and helped us embark on the path we have been on as a band for almost five decades . His pioneering presence as a frontman and vocalist, both on stage and on our first two albums, will be fondly remembered not only by us, but by fans around the world.”
Steve Harris adds: “It’s very sad that he’s gone. I was only in touch with him recently as we messaged each other about West Ham and their ups and downs. At least until recently he was still performing, it was something that It pushed him to keep going, to be out there whenever he could. Everyone will miss him.”
