The De André prize will be on tour again to discover talents

The Fabrizio De André Prize launches the second edition of the project “And you like to let you listen“, An initiative dedicated to the discovery and promotion of New musical talents in Italy.

This project involves promoters and cultural producers operating in various contexts, such as cultural centers, theaters, festivals and live clubs, each of which organizes concerts in the various Italian regions to meet and listen to talents in the area.

During these events, each promoter can select up to 10 local artists to be presented to the artistic direction of the prize, supported by an artistic commission made up of experts in the sector, including songwriters, journalists and producers. These are the members of quality artistic commission made up of: Luisa Melis (Artistic director of the prize), Mauro Ermanno Giovanardi, Cristina Donà, Pino Marino, Geneva Di Marco, Teresa De Sio (songwriters), Massimo Poggini, Marinella Venegoni, Paola Gallo, Pietro D’Ottavio (journalists and music critics), Luca Zannotti, Alessandro Ceccarelli, Franco Zanetti (manager and cultural producers), Teresa Mariano (creator for artistic villages of “And you like to let you listen”).

In each stage of the tour, at least three members of the Commission will be involved, together with the local promoter, and there will be the possibility of having “special guests” who will participate as additional members of the Commission. It is important to underline that the goal of the prize is not to issue classifiers judgments, but rather of listening and enhancing young talents, in a complex historical and cultural moment for the country.

To encourage profitable interaction, the project also includes the realization of a meeting-debate called “Open classroom”, where artists will be able to ask questions and receive useful advice for their artistic path. The artists who participate in the live stages will have the opportunity to perform two songs of their composition without any registration fee, regardless of the proposed musical genre, which can range from the songwriting song to rap, rock, jazz and more.

At the end of each stage, only one artist will be selected who will have direct access to the national semifinals of the Fabrizio De André 2025 award, bypassing the usual registration process. The semifinals will take place in Isernia in Molise on 3, 4 and 5 September 2025.

The tour of this second edition will start in May 2025 and will end in early August of the same year, helping to support and promote good Italian music in the territories involved.

Considering that every year the members of the De André Prize exceed the thousand, it remains evident how much “listening request” there is in the territories and among the new generations, for which Faber remains reference and undisputed inspiration.
