The best-selling rock album of 2024 in the US was 37 years ago
The best-selling rock album of 2024 in the United States is 37 years old, “Rumours” (read the review here) of the FleetwoodMac. This was reported by Ultimate Classic Rock who consulted the data provided by Billboard. 2024 saw rock in second place, overtaken by pop, country and hip-hop.
There are 28 albums that Classic Rock recognizes as rock (although one should define what is rock and what is not) that are present in the top 200 positions of the chart and none of them were released this year.
And only five of these are not greatest hits. Beyond .“Rumours”the only real albums in the charts are “Nevermind” (read the review here) of the Nirvana, “Back in Black” (read the review here) of the AC/DC, “Hybrid Theory” (read the review here) of the Linkin Park and the 1996 album of the same name by Sublime.
