“The Basement“ and “Spilt”, the two sides of Lambrini Girls
Lambrini Girls They show their wildest and most vulnerable side with “The Basement'” and “Spilt”. Both songs are previews of their second album, “No Refunds”will be published on January 15 via City Slang.
After starring a few weeks ago in Brooklyn in a celebration of the riot grrrl spirit that brought together different generations, sharing the stage with Bikini KillLambrini Girls present two new singles: “The Basement” and “Spilt”. Two songs from very different registers that show the thematic breadth of the next work by the Brighton duo, formed by Phoebe Lunny (voice and guitar) and Selin Macieira (low).
Both address different facets of contemporary reality that they face in “No Refunds”their second album, which will arrive on January 15, 2027 via City Slang. In ‘The Basement’, Phoebe and Selin turn their gaze to digital ecosystems that lead disenchanted men toward increasingly reactionary ideologies. At the opposite extreme, “Spil”‘ is an entirely acoustic song that addresses alcohol dependence.
Additionally, Lambrini Girls have announced dates next year in the UK and Europe following their North American tour. “No Refunds” is the darker follow-up to their 2025 debut album, “Who Let The Dogs Out”, which unfolds as a catalog of contemporary horrors in the form of industrial punk with flashes of pop immediacy, angular bass lines and moments of unexpected vulnerability.
The album, which will also include the previously released singles “Bang Bang Bang” and “Cult of Celebrity”, combines his most combative songs with the black humor and wit that have already become his hallmarks.
