Tenco Prize 2024: the special dedicated to the event on RAI1
On January 2, 2025, in the late evening on Rai1a special dedicated to Tenco 202 Award4the festival of songwriting that celebrated its 50th anniversary.
The 2024 edition was dedicated to Maximum Cookeda well-known journalist and friend of Club Tenco, who passed away prematurely in 2023.
During the special, the highlights of the event held at will be shown Ariston Theater in Sanremo from 17 to 19 October 2024which sold out all its evenings and collateral events.
The running of the special will be entrusted to Francis Centoramewhich will tell the story of Club Tenco and the event.
This year, the Award Tenco was assigned to Edward Bennato, Samuel Bersani, Mimmo Locasciulli And Teresa Parodi.
Furthermore, the founder of the Russian group DDT, Jurij Ševchuk, collected the 2022 Tenco Prize, absent due to the ongoing conflict between Russia and Ukraine.
The winners of the Tenco 2024 license plates (who performed on the Ariston stage) include Paul Welcome for best album, Diodate for best single song, Simona Molinari for best performer album, Setak for the best album in dialect, Elisa Ridolfi for best first work album and “I will be Frank” for best project album.
They were also assigned the Tenco Award to the Cultural Operator to Catherine Toll booths and the Award Yorum to Toomaj Salehian Iranian rapper recently released after a year in prison. Parisa Nazzari, human rights activist, accepted the award on behalf of Salehi, accompanied by representatives of Amnesty International.
For the second consecutive year, the SIAE Award was awarded to Ivan Grazianicollected by his sons Filippo and Tommaso, who performed during the evening. Among the special guests, artists such as Simon Cristicchi, BitterAnd Francis Tricarico. Irene Buselli she was selected to perform as an emerging artist, chosen among the participants in “Il Tenco Listen”, an initiative to promote new talents.
The event included events in various locations in Sanremo, such as the Casino Theater and the Ritz Cinema, and dedicated an afternoon to Sergio Stainojournalist and cartoonist, who was president of Club Tenco until his death in 2023.
The scenography of the event was created by Valerio Berrutiknown for his use of traditional and innovative artistic techniques.

The “Capital Records” program, both in the version by Marco Biondi and in that of Mixo and Luca De Gennaro, moved to Sanremo live from the Ariston Theater to talk about the important milestone of 50 years of the event dedicated to Songwriting most prestigious in Italy.
The Tenco Award is a festival of high artistic, cultural and technical quality, which has been held since 1974 in the city in western Liguria which has always represented Italian music. A unique event in Europe and the world to which the most interesting Italian and foreign singer-songwriters are invited, as well as an opportunity for meeting and discussion between artists and operators in the music sector.
