The 2024 edition of the Tenco Prize continues tonight, October 18, to turn the spotlight on Ariston Theater in Sanremo. After the afternoon appointments, the second evening features some of the artists awarded for the 2024 edition of Tenco Award: Edoardo Bennato, Mimmo Locasciulli and Teresa Parodi. Furthermore, the Yorum Award to Toomaj Salehithe Iranian rapper sentenced to death for “corruption on earth” by a revolutionary court. The Yorum Prize has been established in collaboration with Amnesty International Italia since 2020 to give visibility to artists who, often putting their lives at risk, fight for human rights and freedom of expression all over the world.

“In 2019 I came here with an amazing band, with whom I remember having done a super concert”, he says Mimmo Locasciullibefore presenting what to expect from his participation this evening at the Ariston Theater: “This year I am approaching a different humanity. I will play accompanied by the Pessoa Quartet, and each musician plays the instruments created from the wood of the migrants’ boats and made by the people detained in the Milanese prison of Opera”. Today’s evening also includes performances by Kentowhich presents the new single “Free Toomaj” live for the first time, and Wayne Scottwho created a recording project of eleven songs by Lucio Quarantotto translated and interpreted into English. This evening at the Ariston there is also a version of “Con te partirò”, one of the Iconisci songs written by Forty-eight originally for Andrea Bocelli. Scott he will then be the protagonist of the concert tomorrow, October 19th, “Forty-eight – 11 songs by Lucio Quarantotto” with Daniele Caldarini, Lorenzo Colace, Angapiemage Persico and Michele Staino.
