Ten international songs of 1966
While Beatlemania is still alive, new protagonists and new voices are emerging, first and foremost Bob Dylan. The 33 rpm record is now on its way to becoming the most important physical medium, but the 45 rpm record still has space on the market, with songs often – but not always – taken from LPs, or later collected in albums. Here are ten memorable and significant songs from the international scene of 1966 (they are a selection from the choice proposed in the February 2026 issue of “Mojo” magazine).
