Taylor Swift’s strategy to return to first place
You thought – and we thought – that it had disappeared from the radar, after the conclusion, last December, of that “Eras Tour” that for over two years she guaranteed her an almost constant presence in the media around the world. But the Kingdom of Taylor Swift is obviously hard to fall. This is demonstrated by the fact that a year after its release, the album “The Taturad Poets Department”, published by the US singer -songwriter in April 2024, in the middle of the “Eras Tour”, returned to the top of the official ranking of the best -selling of the week in the United Kingdom, pending updated data of the record sales in the USA. Not a coincidence: behind there is a precise strategy devised by Swift (and its entourage), willing not to lose even a millimeter of the multi -military empire that the voice of “Cruel Summer” has managed to build in recent yearsfocusing on a monstrous hyper -production (“The tortured poets department” is the fourth unreleased album published by Swift in four years, to which we must add the “Taylor’s Version” of “Fearless”, “Red”, “Speak Now” and “1989”, which were not properly discs of unpublished but almost) to always be on the crest of the wave.
To push “The tortured poets department” again at the top of the rankings was A special re -edition of the disc published on April 19, exactly one year after the original version, from Taylor Swift. It is a CD version that does not contain extra material compared to that of a year ago, but which has been personally autographed by the singer -songwriter: a collector’s object, for the very active fans of the pop star. So the disc climbed the beauty of twenty -three positions, returning to the top of the Official Charts Company ranking.
At the beginning of this year Swift had passed Madonna, becoming the female artist with the greatest number of albums in the first place in the history of the United Kingdom charts. Merit of “Lover (Live in Paris)”, live album published for the first time in 2023, but republished in February in a special double -shaped vinyl, just in time for Valentine’s Day: the disc gave Swift the thirteenth first place in the ranking in the United Kingdom.
With the return to the top, “The tortured poets department” spends his eleventh week not consecutive at number 1, his longest stay in the United Kingdom so far. In the Billboard 200, which monitors sales in the USA, the disc reached the top of the ranking for 17 non -consecutive weeks.
