Taylor Swift: 50,000 Non-Paying Visitors to Her Concerts in Monaco
The ticket for each date of the “The Eras Tour” Of Taylor Swift (read here) is always a tough sell, with every stop on the massive tour selling out. However, for Swifties who couldn’t get into the Olympiastadion in Munich, Germany, last weekend, a hill overlooking the stadium provided a convenient, unofficial workaround.
Word of the gimmick spread quickly, and by the time Saturday’s concert began, an estimated 40,000 people had gathered on the hill outside the venue. By Sunday, another 10,000 had joined in the fun.
Swift acknowledged the huge turnout at Sunday’s concert.
“We are fortunate enough to be able to play this show for 74,000 beautiful people in this stadium and, if the reports are correct, about 50,000 beautiful people outside the stadium,” he said. “Thank you for coming to ‘The Eras Tour’, whether you are in the stadium or outside the stadium. We are so lucky to be here with you. And this is a very special night, because it is our last concert in Germany. I cannot express how wonderful the German audiences have been to us over the last few weeks. We are very sad to leave you, but we will be back, we will be back to see you.
Taylor Swift’s “The Eras Tour” still has a few more stops in the UK and Europe, including dates in Warsaw, Vienna and London through August. Then, in October, she’ll kick off the final leg of her North American tour.
It will be necessary to study the floor plans to be able to find an alternative place in case of sold out.
