Talking Heads members to reunite to launch channel on SiriusXM

Talking Heads They will meet at the end of this month to mark the launch of a new channel, which will broadcast their catalog and a special conversation between its members.

The channel, titled Talking Heads Radiocan be heard on the radio throughout almost the entire month of October in the United States and until October 31 on the SiriusXM application. It promises to review five decades of music David Byrne, Chris Frantz, Jerry Harrison and Tina Weymouthplus a conversation between the group that will air at noon on launch day on October 1. That conversation will be recorded live in New York on September 28, hosted by This Haim.

It will be another reunion for the ’80s pioneers, who made their first public appearance together in more than twenty years in 2023, when they reunited at the Toronto International Film Festival on September 11, on the occasion of the anniversary of his concert film Stop Making Sense. Asked about the possibility of playing together again, Weymouth said the group was simply enjoying the moment.

Regarding a possible reunion, Frantz explained to NME in 2022 that he had tried a couple of times, the last one about twenty years ago, and that after that Byrne asked him not to ask him that question again. Bryne, for his part, told The Times last year that recreating the feeling people had when listening to that music for the first time in their early twenties is a futile task, and that he is also enjoying what he does now.

Obviously all this does not mean that there will be a reunion on the Talking Heads stages. Quite the contrary, Byrne continues to recover the group’s most emblematic repertoire on his solo tours.
