Talking Heads, concert film “Stop Making Sense” in cinemas
‘STOP MAKING SENSE. 40 ANNIVERSARY EXPERIENCE’, the project celebrating 40 years since the release of the concert film by Talking Heads made by the director Jonathan Demme.
The celebrations will begin at the Teatro Olimpico in Rome, where the journalist Gino Castaldo will present the film in Italian preview together with Jerry Harrisonthe guitarist of the Talking Headsand James Mockoskiresponsible for the film restoration, for the first “Stop Making Sense Special Night”.
After the preview at the Rome Film Fest, it will be time for the Stop Making Sense Party at the Alcatraz in Milan, scheduled for October 24th as part of the ninth edition of JAZZMI 2024 (advance tickets will be available from Monday, September 23rd at 12:00 p.m., full details on stopmakingsense40.it). The event will mark the debut of the Stop Making Sense Tour Party in Italian clubs and theaters, with dates that will be announced soon on stopmakingsense40.it. Finally, only on November 11th, 12th and 13th, the film will arrive in Italian theaters in 4K and Dolby Atmos 7.1 audio with the Cinema Experience.
“Stop Making Sense” chronicles the band’s performance at the Pantages Theater in Hollywood in December 1983, when David Byrne, Tina Weymouth, Chris Frantz And Jerry Harrisonalong with an ensemble of supporting musicians, perform at the height of their success. The new edition of the film, completely restored in 4K (the first revision was in 1999), includes a completely remastered soundtrack, curated by the same guitarist and keyboardist of the Talking Heads, Jerry Harrison.
