Talay Riley, author for Dua Lipa, Britney Spears and HER, killed

Talay Riley, British singer-songwriter and author who wrote songs for artists such as Dua Lipa, Britney Spears, HER and Khalid, has died in London at the age of 35. The artist was the victim of a stabbing.
According to the Metropolitan Police, Riley was found in an East London garden with stab wounds on the morning of June 5. Another man was also injured in the attack and his condition was not considered serious.
The investigations are still ongoing: the police have arrested three people on suspicion of murder. One was subsequently released on bail pending further investigation, while the other two were released without further action.

The news of his death was confirmed by manager Cleo Amedume through a statement published on social media: “Talay will be remembered by those who knew him publicly for his incredible talent as an author and artist who won a Grammy and numerous platinum records. For those who knew him and loved him personally, above all his humour, his generosity and his unmistakable presence will be missed.”

Some of his career highlights include Dua Lipa’s “Last Dance,” Khalid’s “Young Dumb & Broke” and H.E.R.’s “Lights On.” Thanks to the work done for HER’s self-titled album, awarded as best R&B album at the Grammy Awards, Riley had won a Grammy as an author. Throughout his career he has also collaborated on songs such as “Who’s Laughing Now” by Jessie J, “Clumsy” by Britney Spears, “If It Ain’t Love” by Jason Derulo and “Levels” by Nick Jonas.

Riley made his name as a performer and artist in the UK between 2009 and 2011, also releasing material under his own name, achieving moderate success with the single “Make You Mine”.
