Supertramp: new vinyl reissues are arriving

After the reprints of “Crime Of The Century” And “Crisis? What Crisis?”Supertramp continue the celebrations of their 50th anniversary with the reissues of their immense repertoire. “Even In The Quietest Moments…”, “Breakfast In America” And “…Famous Last Words…” have been remastered in half speed and will be released on vinyl on March 20, 2026. As with the project’s first two releases, these three albums have also been remastered by Miles Showell at Abbey Road Studios.

“Even In The Quietest Moments…” was originally released in April 1977 and is the band’s fifth album. It was an immediate success, peaking at number 16 on the Billboard Album Charts. The first song on the album, “Give A Little Bit”immediately entered the Billboard Hot 100. The song has been streamed 800 million times. Only a year after its release, the album was ranked 63rd in the World Critic Lists, which recognized the 200 best albums of all time as voted by rock critics and the most authoritative DJs.

The sixth album, “Breakfast In America”remains Supertramp’s biggest commercial success. Released in March 1979, it sold over 22 million copies worldwide, generated 2 billion streams and remained on the Billboard 200 for 88 consecutive weeks. Among the hit singles: “The Logical Song”, “Goodbye Stranger” And “Take The Long Way Home”all of which entered the Billboard Hot 100. “The Logical Song” to date it boasts over 900 million streams. Even the title track “Breakfast In America” achieved great global success, entering the UK top 10.

The album received a number of accolades, including two Grammy Awards and an Ivor Novello Award (for “The Logical Song”). It was ranked 207th in Guinness’s Top 1000 Albums of All Time, 69th in Classic Rock Magazine’s Greatest British Rock Albums of All Time, 43rd in the Australian listener-voted list of the 100 Greatest Albums of All Time and 294th in Colin Larkin’s renowned book “All Time 1000 Albums”.“…Famous Last Words…” was released in October 1982 and is the last album featuring the band’s “classic lineup”: Hodgson, Davies, Helliwell, Thomson and Siebenberg. Roger Hodgson left the band in 1983. The album was a great commercial success, reaching number five in the charts Billboard of US albums and number six in the UK. This series of half-speed reissues gives Supertramp’s catalog greater sonic depth.
