Stevie Wonder Played “Higher Ground” for Kamala Harris

Last Wednesday Stevie Wonder took the stage at the Democratic National Convention at the United Center in Chicago, where he performed his classic “Higher Ground”from the album “Innervisions” (read the review here) of 1973. Before the performance, the 74-year-old Wonder gave a speech in which he supported Kamala Harris in the race for the election of the President of the United States that will be held next November, urging the crowd present: “Get up! And go vote!”. It is not the first time that Stevie Wonder attends a Democratic National Convention, it also happened in 2008 to support the candidacy of Barack Obama.

For this round of elections Neil Young has granted to Tim Walzthe governor of Minnesota who will be vice president if Kamala Harris will be elected, permission to use for her campaign “Rockin’ in the Free World”. In 2020, Young sued Donald Trump for using the same song.
