Stevie Wonder: “I will never retire”

Back on tour in Europe this summer eleven years after the last time, but only for a series of shows in the United Kingdom, the 75 -year -old Stevie Wonder granted an interview with the BBC in which he denied the rumors about his alleged retreat. The voice of “Isn’t She Lovely” made it known that he has no intention of hanging the microphone on the nail: “I love playing, it’s like my mantra. I think I can do everything I want, to have fun and do what I have to, but I will not stop the gift that continues to scroll through my body,” said Stevie Wonder.

The musician then added: “I love what I do. An artist never stops drawing: he continues to do so. As long as you can imagine, you will be creative, and as long as you let your mind work, you will not have to retire.”

Before playing at the beginning of the month between Lotham St. Annes, Manchester, Birmingham, Cardiff and London Stevie Wonder had been missing on tour from Europe since 2014. Forced to face some health problems, such as the kidney transplant to which he underwent in 2019, in recent years the legend has preferred not to travel too many kilometers on tour, performing only in North America.

The musician’s latest studio album remains “A Time To Love” from 2005.
