Steven Wilson working on a new Ultravox release

After working on the remasters of “Vienna”, “Rage in Eden” and “Quartet” for their respective celebratory reissues, Steven Wilson has returned to get his hands on another Ultravox album. The seventh album by the historic English group, originally released in 1984 and containing among other things the songs “One Small Day”, “Dancing With Tears In My Eyes” and the title track “Lament”, will be reissued as an eight-disc deluxe box set for the 40th anniversary of its release.

The reissue of the album – the last with drummer Warren Cann until the 2012 reunion album “Brilliant” – will be available from next September 6th and, in addition to the original album and the version remastered by Steven Wilson, will include 45 songs, all singles with their B-sides, remixes, rarities and an unreleased concert from 1984. The release will also include a disc of extended ’80s-style remixes by Wilson, Moby and others.

The set, also available as a 5-LP deluxe vinyl edition and as a 2-album half-speed master, will be accompanied by a 20-page booklet containing a new essay with never-before-seen interviews and photos and a rerun of the 1984 tour program. As noted, all formats have been designed by replicating designer Peter Saville’s original artwork printed in black on black cardstock.

With his solo project, Steven Wilson will be in Italy in 2025 on the occasion of “The Overview Tour 2025”. The British musician, who will release his new solo album “Overview” next year, will perform in Milan, at the Arcimboldi Theater on Saturday 7 June, and in Rome, at the Auditorium Parco della Musica Ennio Morricone (Santa Cecilia room) on Sunday 8 June.
