The guitarist of Sex Pistols, Steve Jonesexpressed, during an interview granted to Guitar World, the opinion regarding his vision of playing the guitar declaring that he prefers a more direct and empathic approach to the mere technical virtuosity that is sometimes an end in himself.

The 69 -year -old English musician declared his admiration for the style of the guitarist of Rolling Stones Keith Richardsconsidered simple, compared to that of technically more complete and competent musicians. “I have never been one who wants to practice and improve. I am quite happy … I don’t know if I can, or if my brain will allow me to play something elaborate.”

He also made a comparison between different guitar philosophies. He underlined his preference for the substance compared to technical complexity. “It’s like Keith Richards. He is very good in what he does, but he is limited. Okay, because I would be happy with the limited way to play Keith Richards’ guitar. I would far prefer to be like him who like Yngwie Malmsteen”.
