Stephen King’s music

Taking inspiration from the publication of the book “Stephen King’s music”, published by Tsunami, we asked the author, Giuseppe Cucinotta, to prepare for Rockol a list of songs that in one way or another are linked to the literary works of the horror king.

Here is his selection. Happy listening!

1) “Hey Hey My My” by Neil Young (the bearing column of “IT”)

2) “Jungleland” by Bruce Springsteen (in “The Shadow of the Scorpio” – The boss is one of King’s favorite authors)

3) “Hey Jude” by the Beatles (the refrain that returns to all the books of the “La Torre Nera” saga)

4) “Girls Just Want To Have Fun” by Cyndi Lauper (song symbol of “Miser”)

5) “You Want It Darker” by Leonard Cohen (inspired the title of the “You Like It Darker” collection))

6) “Pet Sedry” of the Ramones (for obvious reasons related to the connection with the book of the same name)

7) “Ride The Lightning” of Metallica (song inspired by “The shadow of Scorpio”)

8) “AMONG the Living” of the Anthrax (disc and song inspired by King’s works, Scott Ian is one of the greatest fans of the king)

9) “Who made Who” by AC/DC (song used as a “thrill” soundtrack, the film shot by King)

10) “Pennywise” of the Pennywise (the band that used the name of the clown for its moniker)

11) “7 Days to the Wolves” of the Nightwish (inspired by the series “La Torre Nera”)
