Yesterday St. Vincent she was a guest of Late Show With Stephen Colbert participating in ‘Under the Covers’a TV show segment in which, as the name suggests, artists cover their favorite songs.

Annie Clarkthis is the real name of the 43-year-old musician born in Tulsa, who chose to interpret the 1975 hit by David Bowie “Young Americans”. St. Vincent proposed a version very similar to that of the English musician who passed away in 2016, updating it by replacing the old president Richard Nixon in the text with the more recent Joe Biden.

When asked by Colbert who he would like to reinterpret his songs, Annie responded by mentioning three names: Erykah Badu, Doechii or the Slits. St. Vincent spent much of 2025 touring to promote his latest album, “All Born Screaming” (read the review here), released in spring 2024.
