Shiva: 6 and a half year sentence for Milan shooting
Almost a year after the shooting that took place on July 11, 2023 outside from the record company “Milano ovest” located in Settimo Milanese on the outskirts of Milan, Shiva was sentenced today – July 10 – to 6 and a half years on charges of shooting two rivals. According to ANSA, the decision was made by the judges of the eighth criminal section of the Court of Milan at the end of the abbreviated trial.
The trapper is accused of attempted murder, illegal possession of a firearm and receiving stolen goods (the gun was never found). According to what was later reported by Il Messaggero, Shiva was granted the mitigating circumstance of compensation for damages to the alleged victims, while provocation and generic charges were excluded. After having asked for their client’s acquittal, stating that the singer “had done nothing but defend himself”, the defense attorneys Daniele Barelli and Marco Campora have already announced that they will appeal. “We respect, as always, the sentence – Barelli declared -, but we are convinced of everything we have supported from the beginning and we expect answers”. The lawyer Campora added: “We have always maintained that the crime of attempted murder does not exist at all – added the lawyer Campora -, we have demonstrated with a ballistics consultancy that all the shots were fired downwards. We will appeal, aware that higher-level judges may have a different view and downgrade the crime”.
Before today’s decision, prosecutor Daniela Bartolucci, who is coordinating the investigation, had requested a 7-year sentence. Shiva, arrested last October, is currently under house arrest after being released at the end of February. His lawyers have also announced that they will present a request to revoke the precautionary measure.
