Sex Pistols with Frank Carter pay homage to Clem Burke dei Blondie
Following the disappearance of Clem Burke, which took place on April 7, there are many artists who recalled the late Blondie drummer who passed away 70 years after a battle against cancer. Among these, the sex pistols with Frank Carter paid tribute to Burke during their concert last night at Sydney’s Hodern Pavillion.
During the show Glen Matlock, Paul Cook and Steve Jones of the historic British punk band, currently on tour with the Rattlesnake frontman, decided to dedicate the entire set to Burke, who was a dear friend of the group for many years.
“Good evening Sydney,” said the frontman at the beginning of the concert: “I just want to take a moment to dedicate this show to an extraordinary man and friend of the boys: Clem Burke. An incredible drummer, who unfortunately left us yesterday”. He added: “This evening it is for Clem, and it is for friendship”.
The video of the moment was shared on social media by the band’s bassist, Glen Matlock, who collaborated for a long time with Burke in the blondie.
In addition to the video of the concert, Matlock also published a photo that portrays them together, accompanied by a message in which he pays homage to him after learning about his death. “Really sad days. What a drummer, what a friend, what a man. I will miss a lot, my friend,” he wrote in the caption.
