Several items belonging to John Bonham have gone up for auction

Some items belonging to the drummer have gone up for auction in Great Britain Led Zeppelin John Bonham owned by Allan Weaverbrother-in-law of the musician who died in 1980 at the age of 32.

Among other items a leather coat sold at auction for over £15,000 (at the exchange rate around 17,000 euros), a 1970s brown leather jacket with brown faux fur collar sold for £15,300, then a 1970s western style embroidered cream shirt, worn during the filming of the film ‘The Song Remains The Same’the 1976 concert film, sold for £12,200. Also up for auction were a 1978 blue velvet suit that sold for £3,800, and two other western-style shirts, which sold for £4,700 and £4,200 respectively.

Before the auction, Mr Weaver had compared the brown coat to the one worn on the album cover “II” (read the review here) of the Led Zeppelin. However, the auctioneers were unable to confirm that it was the same coat and asked potential buyers to ensure that it was the same coat.

The blue dress had a name tag Robinson Bespokea family-run business in Redditch, Worcestershire, where Bonham was a regular customer. Lawrence Robinsonthe owner, told the auctioneers: “We would deliver a suit to John on Friday for a concert or party and he would return on Monday with the suit ruined, asking us to make another one.”
