SEEYOUSOUND International Music Film Festival, the programme

The twelfth edition of Seeyousound International Music Film Festival will be held in Turin from 3 to 8 March, the first festival in Italy entirely dedicated to music-themed cinema. For 6 days, 68 films – of which 3 are world premieres and 2 international -, 16 live shows, DJ sets and audiovisual performances, 2 exhibitions and 1 artistic residency will make the city resonate, releasing its 2026 mantra: MAKE SOME NOISE.

Seeyousound 12 offers a program that combines the competitive sections Long Play Doc (documentaries), Long Play Feature (feature films), 7 Inch (short films), Soundies (video clips) and Frequencies (soundtracks); at the out-of-competition shows Into the Groove and Rising Sound.

Many titles are awaited by fans, among which stands out the international premiere of “Bowie: The Final Act” by Jonathan Stiasny – a guest in the room to reveal to the public his work on Bowie’s artistic testament – and the absolute preview of “Micah P. Hinson – The Tomorrow Man” by Lina Sanabria, who will be in the room together with Micah P. Hinson, the musician at the center of the film and who will perform in an exclusive live event at the end of the screening. Added to this are the Italian premieres of “Herbie” by Patrick Savey, a tribute to Herbie Hancock; “Butthole Surfers: The Hole Truth and Nothing Butt” by Tom J. Stern; “Wolves” by Jonas Ulrich, a coming-of-age story set on the fringes of the European black metal scene; “Rave On” by Nikias Chryssos and Viktor Jakovleski, an immersive journey into the Berlin night; and “Sun Ra: Do The Impossible” – presented at Tribeca FF in New York – which delves into the philosophy and legacy of the musician, poet and pioneer of Afrofuturism.

Alongside cinema, music pulsates strongly in the festival programme, strengthening the bond between screen, stage and audience with various live moments including the unprecedented live performance of Casino Royale for the Opening Night; live by Micah P. Hinson; the sound performance by Giorgio Li Calzi and Stefano Risso starting from “Landed”; two special sets dedicated to the last forty years of the Turin scene with surprise guests linked to the films “Nostra Torino Oscura” and “Falene”; the Kitbashing audiovisual project by ABADIR with Nicolò Cervello proposed by Soundies in collaboration with ALMARE; the performances of Francesco Corvi and Jolanda Moletta for Frequencies; and the official Rising Sound POST FUNK From Screen to Dancefloor party with DJs Lavalamp and Catu Diosis.
