The new album of the American guitarist sees the presence of great artists such as Smokey Robinson, Michael Jackson, Miles Davis, Cindy Blackman Santana, DMC MC Daniels and another Italian: Paolo Rustichelli.
“Sentient” is made up of 11 tracks already published, plus three unpublished, selected by Santana himself and remastered for this album.
“I am always guided by passion, emotion and inner instinct. When I heard these traces to go around the house, I said to myself: ‘Why don’t we all put them together in a single place?” So Santana himself said that on July 2nd he will be live in Italy in Piazza Sordello in Mantua
The release of the disc is anticipated by a first single: a version of “please don’t take your love” by Smokey Robinson.
The original version, contained in Robinson’s album of 2009, “Time Flies When you’re Having Fun”, saw Santana engaged in an intense solo.

It is a jazz-grroove song taken from the 1996 album “Mystic Man” made by the Roman composer Paolo Rustichelliwhich sees Santana’s collaboration with Miles Davis. Rustichelli is an Italian keyboard player, organist and composer, known for his soundtracks, some of which for the films played by Cicciolina, Moana Pozzi and other actresses of the stable of Riccardo Schicchi, “Futura diva”.
In 1991 the Italian composer released the album “Mystic Jazz”, which includes songs by Miles Davis and Carlos Santana. With the latter a friendship and collaboration was born, culminating in the album “Mystic Man” of 1996, co-produced by Santana. The song “Full Moon”, written by Rustichelli, becomes part of Santana’s repertoire, appearing in several of his albums and collections. The “Mystic Man” album also participate artists such as Miles Davis, Herbie Hancock, Wayne Shorter, Andy Summers And Jill Jones.
The musical group Twentieth century It is formed in Milan, as a ban on parking, in 1979 and is composed of the brothers Pine, Linen And Rossana Nicolosi To which is added the singer Dora Carphine. With the name twentieth century, active since 1984, the group has achieved its first success with the single “Movin ‘on”.
Over the years, they have released several successful albums and singles, participating in important musical events and collaborating with artists such as Juni Russian And Billy Cobham.
In 1995, they signed with Ztt and Atlantic, marking a phase of international success. In the following years, they dedicated themselves to production, approaching jazz and collaborating with fame artists (Chaka Khan, Gino Vannelli, George Duke, Bob Mintzer, Alex Acuña, John Scofield, Brian Auger, Jarreau, Stanley Jordan and others).
They continued to produce music and to launch new projects until 2023, the year in which they collaborated with Narada Michael Walden For the album “Euphoria”
