Rush: It is Reunion, with a new drummer. Announced a tour

It’s official: The rush confirmed their return. After years of hopes, rumors and declarations, the historic Canadian band has announced a reunion tour for 2026 which will see the Return of Geddy Lee and Alex Lifesontogether with the new drummer Anika Nilles. For Rush it will be a return ten years after the end of the tour “R40 Live: 40th Anniversary Tour“And five years after the disappearance of the drummer Neil Peart, who seemed to have pushed Lee and Lifeson to put a stone above marking the end of the glorious trio. Only in 2022 Geddy and Alex returned to play together on a stage on the occasion of the tribute concerts to Taylor Hawkins of the Foo Fighters in London (here our story from Wembley) and Los Angeles. Subsequently, the two musicians. They had reiterated that they will find himself playing together, but the idea of returning to tour without Peart did not convince them.

The first concert of the Rush with this new formation will be held the June 7 at the Kia Forum in Los Angelesfollowed by a second evening in the same place two days later. The tour will then stop in Mexico, Texas, Illinois, New York, Ontario and Ohio. The shows will follow the format already adopted by other historical bands, baptized “An Evening with“, With two sets by evening that will retrace the entire career of the historic training.

More than ten years have passed since the last time Alex and I played Rush’s music together with our late companion and friend Neil. A heritage of songs in which we put heart and soul in writing them, registering and playing them together on stage, “said Geddy Lee talking about the tour and the new drummer:

“And so, after everything that happened from the last concert, Alex and I made a profound examination of consciousness and we came to the decision that we are missing to die – fuck if we miss! – and that the time has come to celebrate more than fifty years of rush music. In 2026, therefore, my BFF Lerxst (i.e. Alex Lifeson) we will return to tour to make a good selection, of songs from Rush in some cities. It is not a trivial task, because as we all know, it was irreplaceable. It will give all the support necessary to face an almost impossible role before going on stage we also hope to add another musician or two, to expand our sound a little and leave a little freedom to Alex … maybe also to show some new dance step! We have accustomed.
