Rosalía enchants the Tonight Show with a fairytale performance
Sunday evening, November 16, Rosalía took the stage of the Tonight Show for a suggestive interpretation of “La Perla”, taken from his latest album “Lux”. Originally the song featured Yahritza y Su Esencia, who were however absent during the television performance. The Spanish superstar transformed the studio into a true fairy tale, with dreamlike precision and a magnetic stage presence. Wearing a pearl style strapless dresssoft and ethereal, almost like a dancer, Rosalía dominated the stage with her mix of delicacy and strength. His voice was intertwined with an orchestral accompaniment full of violins, while his image, with bleached hair on the top of her head, she evoked a luminous aura, adding a mystical touch to the performance.
The camera then widened the frame to reveal Rosalía on top of an impressive pile of mattresses covered in lilac sheets, clear reference to the story of “The Princess and the Pea”. The culminating moment came when the artist got off the mattresses, supported by two assistants, extracting a gigantic pearl, symbol of the song. Rosalía’s fascination also extended to the moment of interview, during which she led Jimmy Fallon in an impromptu flamenco lesson, teaching him how to move, clap his hands and control his voice. “You have to stand… posture is important,” the artist explained, demonstrating body-loosening exercises and lip vibrations, encouraging Fallon warmly as he attempted to sing a passage from “La Perla” in Spanish. With her latest album, Rosalía conquers the top 10 of the Billboard 200 for the first time, debuting in fourth place, confirming its leading role in the international music scene.
