Ronnie Wood solo: will open for Eric Clapton in the UK
One will be held next August 23rd special Eric Clapton concert as part of the 2026 series of The Sandringham Estatea summer event that will start on August 20th and will last three days. They will be there alongside Clapton a series of artists which, as recently announced, also includes Ronnie Wood among the musicians present on the bill.
Rolling Stones guitarist is one of the three opening acts who will join the iconic guitarist. In addition to Wood, who according to what was reported by the NME will offer a rare solo performance at the big outdoor event, they will also play Andy Fairweather Low And Will Wylde.
This concert for Ronnie Wood comes after years of a solo career carried out in parallel with his activity in the Faces, the Jeff Beck Group and the Stones. His debut solo album, “I’ve Got My Own Album to Do,” came out in 1974, and in the years since, up until his most recent solo project “I Feel Like Playing” in 2010, the musician has continued to release solo music that blends rock, blues and boogie. With the Sandringham performance, audiences will have a rare chance to see Wood as a soloist, after a career dotted with collaborations with Bob Dylan, David Bowie and Aretha Franklin, and a double induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
