Roger Daltrey: “The reviews? That's why I don't read them”
“Reviews? I don't read them. I don't care what people think of me. I can't live like this.” Thus, in the columns of the Times, Roger Daltrey talks about his relationship with reviews. The 80-year-old London musician, historic lead singer of the Who, wrote a “backstage diary” for the popular British newspaper about the concerts he organized for the Teenage Cancer Trust charity and, among other things, also revealed that he doesn't read reviews about his shows:
The reviews have arrived but I won't read them. If you read the good ones, you must read the bad ones, and the bad ones will shock you. I stay away from everything: reviews, Twitter, everything else.
Extending the discussion to social media, Daltrey added:
Social media might be great for talking to people, but when you start adding comments and likes, it's just food for the ego, don't you think? I don't care what people think of me. I can't live like this.
