Metallica's "Enter Sandman" Remade by Robert Fripp and Toyah

Robert Fripp and Toyah focus on Amyl & The Sniffers

They are the Amyl & The Sniffers the band on which Robert Fripp and Toyah they decided to go for the most recent one episode of their “Sunday Lunch”. Traditionally in the kitchen of their home in Worcestershire, the leader of King Crimson and his wife have in fact chosen to reread a song by the young Australian bandborn in the hot dust of Melbourne and fresh from the release of her third album “Cartoon Darkness” to illuminate the shadow of punk. The song reinterpreted by Fripp and Toyah, entitled “U should not be doing that”.

In the video, Robert Fripp and wife offer a more classic rock version of the song by Amyl & The Sniffers, with her standing on a table, dressed in a long black evening gown, gold gloves and sunglasses, dancing while a wind machine blows her hair back in spectacular fashion. Fripp accompanies Toyah on guitar, sitting close to the camera with a bow tie and a serious expression.

The success achieved by the “Sunday Lunch”, a project started during the pandemic, has allowed Robert Fripp and Toyah to leave the kitchen of their home to spend the summer on stages between 2023 and 2024. Over the course of the series, the two had fun and entertained with covers of, among others, Metallica, Iggy Pop, Alice Cooper and David Bowie, which they re-read last October “Scary Monsters (and Super Creeps)” for Halloween. Of the Four Horsemen, Fripp and Mrs. released the official and professional recording of their cover of the last August “Enter Sandman”, originally proposed by the cup in January 2021but the video – which featured the singer in sexy attire performing the song on an exercise bike – is no longer available even though it brought “Sunday Lunch” to a huge audience at the time.
