Radiohead: an unpublished live video for the 30 years of “The Bends”
To celebrate thirty years from the release of “The Bends”, the album originally published by Radiohead on March 13, 1995, the band shared an unpublished video of a solo performance of Thom Yorke of the time.
The movie, recorded on VHS, immortalizes Yorke as he performs in a solo acoustic set at the Toronto Horshoe Tarn, in Canada, on March 28, 1995. “Here are some songs to help you send the beer down,” he heard from the radiohead frontman before starting to play. The 25 -minute video sees “Nice Dream”, “High & Dry”, “Street Spirit (Fade Out)”, “Fake Plastic Trees” and “Thinking About You”.
“The Bends” was the second album of Radiohead and helped project them to an even greater success. It was their first job with Nigel Godrich, who has since collaborated with the band at every album. Godrich took care of the disk sound engineering, while the production was entrusted to John Leckie. In addition to the songs already mentioned in the movie, the album gave birth to individuals such as “Just”, “My Iron Lung” and “Planet Telex”.
The news follows that on the establishment by the Radioheads of a new legal entity, suggesting that there could be a significant activity in 2025. On Monday 10 March, in fact, the group recorded a limited liability company (LLP) with the name of “Rheuk25”, a practice that training has already adopted in the past before announcing a new album, a tour or a reprint.
