Queen: Brian May Remembers Freddie Mercury’s Final Days
Brian May has given a new interview to Axs Tv and talked about the legacy of his band, Queen, and how the group had essentially given up on it in the deepest sense of the word. after the passing of Freddie Mercury. “We have always said: if one of us leaves, it’s over. So Roger (Taylor, ed.) and I both came out of that experience extremely saddened. saying it was over, and that we didn’t even want to talk about it for a long time,” the guitarist said.
He then went on to talk about Freddie Mercury and his last days alive. “We made the last album, the project was ‘Made In Heaven’we did it with the tracks that Freddie left us to play and it became a real act of love because he left little pieces of himself, lovely little pieces – he recalled – he was very undramatic about his condition. I never saw him cry or feel sorry for himself. He never did. Freddy was always an inspiration. If he were here now, we would be doing what we always do, I’m sure of it.”
May also discussed Adam Lambert’s role within the band and added that the new singer always provides a fresh take on things and is not afraid to openly express what they should feel. “Songs are not fossils, They are alive and evolving with Adam, which is awesome. Sometimes it leaves me speechless,” May continued. All together they form Queen + Adam Lambert (sometimes abbreviated as Q + AL or QAL): are a musical supergroup composed of the members of Queen: Brian May and Roger Taylor, guitarist and drummer of the group, and the American singer Lambert himself.
