Porfirio Rubirosa, "My word is a commitment"

Porfirio Rubirosa, “My word is a commitment”

Porfirio Rubirosa’s new single was released today, January 8, on all digital platforms. It arrives almost three years after his last album of unreleased songs – “Il furore composed” (2023, Isola Tobia Label).

It is a song that talks about defects, unfulfilled promises of change, human relationships, whose echoes inevitably refer to the work of Piero Ciampi, who has always been the tutelary deity of Porfirio Rubirosa.

The singer-songwriter explains:

“We inevitably tend to treat our own people superficially and lightly
defects. But they are precisely the ones who draw the furrow that separates us from those who love us. Until one day there
we realize that that distance has now become unbridgeable. And so we find ourselves alone. Desperately
unable to recover a relationship. For whose destruction we are primarily responsible. In the song I have
wanted to preserve this drama, avoiding any form of distraction on the part of the listener,
including any form of communication by images”.

The voice rests on an orchestral base arranged by Fabio Merigo (Giuliano Palma & The Bluebeaters, Nina Zilli, Africa Unite, The Originals), who artistically produced the single together with Porfirio Rubirosa. Among the musicians involved in the recording of the song, in addition to Fabio Merigo and Porfirio Rubirosa, also Marta Stella (violin) and Riccardo “Deepa” Di Paola (piano).
“My word is a commitment” is also the first work of the new record brand “Dischi del Lammione”, which is headed by Porfirio Rubirosa.
The related video clip, directed by Alessandro Bolettieri, was shot in Grassano, in the province of Matera, Porfirio Rubirosa’s town of origin, and features his fetish actor Michele “Lo Svizzero” Calciano as the protagonist.
