Police: a reissue for the 41st anniversary of “Synchronicity“

Four decades after its original release, the album by Police“Synchronicity“, will be republished on July 26, 2024 in various formats, including a 6-CD Deluxe box set containing previously unreleased songs and in different versions, an entire concert in America from '83 never released, new liner notes, interviews, memorabilia and photographs never seen before. This project required three years of work and the direct involvement of the band.

“Synchronicity” achieved extraordinary success, reaching number one on the global charts and selling over 15 million copies, including 8.5 million in the United States alone. The hit “Every Breath You Take” is the most played song in radio history with over 15 million plays. The album won three Grammy Awards in 1984 (Best Rock Performance, Song of the Year and Best Pop Performance) and was included by Rolling Stone among the 500 best albums in history, ranking at number 159.

The set includes a 62-page book with new, in-depth liner notes written by music journalist Jason Draper, detailing the birth of The Police's masterpiece.

Over forty years later, the band members continue to carry on the legacy of The Police: Stewart Copeland published his “Police Diaries”, toured the world with concerts”Police Deranged” (read here) and will perform in the UK with the show “Have I Said Too Much?”; Andy Summers he has published several photography books on the Police era and is currently touring the USA with the show “Cracked Lens + A Missing String”; Sting he is on tour in the United States and Europe, where he plays many Police songs.

● CD3 and CD4: alternate unreleased takes of all the songs from the Synchronicity album

● CD4: Contains previously unreleased Police songs including an early version of Andy Summers' 1982 song “Goodbye Tomorrow” (later “Someone To Talk To”), a demo of “I'm Blind” (later “Brothers on Wheels” ) taken from the soundtrack of “Rumblefish” by Francis Ford Coppola and written by Stewart Copeland, an unreleased first version of “Truth Hits Everybody” (from the 1978 debut of Outlandos d'Amour), rare covers of Eddie Cochran's songs ” Three Steps To Heaven” and “Rock and Roll Music” by Chuck Berry.

● CD5 and CD6: with 19 live recordings – all unreleased – recorded on 10 September 1983 at the Oakland-Alameda Coliseum, USA
