Placebo, Italian dates are added for summer 2024
THE Placebo they have three Italian dates on the calendar for summer 2024: they will make a stop at the Rugby Sound Festival in Legnano on 1st Julythen to Rock in Rome (8 July), then to Pordenone Blues & Co. Festival (July 9).
Placebo, Brian Molko and bassist Stefan Olsdal, more than a quarter of a century after they started playing with broken guitars and toy instruments at Molko's home in Deptford, released their eighth album in March 2022: “Never Let Me Go”
In December 2023 the band also released “Collapse Into Never – Live in Europe”, the first live album ever. An extensive collection of performances spanning more than 25 years of career, captured in Mexico, Spain and London. Other live versions of their songs were released when they took part in MTV Unpligged in 2015 and the recordings of that concert were released in the show's record series. Furthermore, in 2009 it was made available only digitally for ITunes of Placebo's performance at The Roundhouse in London, 14 July 2009 for the 2009 iTunes Festival.
Placebo have marked the history of international music in the last 20 years: starting from their debut, the group has inspired an entire generation of artists and over the years has collaborated with music legends such as Robert Smith, David Bowie and Michael Stipe.
The British band can boast more than 13 million records sold to date, and boasting five entries in the TopTen LP chart in the United Kingdom. They return to Italy after the six summer dates of 2023.
