Pixies: reissues of albums “Bossanova” and “Trompe le Monde” coming out

To celebrate their forty years i Pixies they reissue the albums on vinyl and CD “Bossanova” of 1990 and “Trompe le Monde” of 1991, the publication is scheduled for September 11th. The albums will be available on limited edition vinyl with 7-inch singles containing previously unreleased songs, including the version by “Dig for Fire” of today disappeared Steve Albini.

In addition to being remastered, the special “Dinked Edition” Of “Bossanova” will be available on burgundy vinyl with a bonus 7-inch single containing “Dig for Fire (Albini Version)” And “Go Man Go”. Albini’s version of “Dig for Fire” was recorded in late 1987 for the recording sessions of “Pink Surfer”.

The limited edition of “Trompe le Monde” it is pressed on light blue vinyl and includes a 7-inch with the unreleased songs “Brackish Boy” And “Punk Loops”. Kevin Vanbergenwho remastered both albums, found both songs during the recording sessions of “Trompe le Monde”.

“Bossanova” was the successor to “Doolittle” (read the review here), the breakthrough album of Pixies released in 1989, which revived the grunge sounds of their debut, “Pink Surfer”. He produced two hits: “Velouria” And “Dig for Fire”. “Trompe le Monde”however, was the band’s last album before their dissolution and the last with the bassist Kim Deal. The album’s hits include “Letter to Memphis” And “Head On”.

THE Pixies they will be on tour over the summer. The American band dedicated a date to Italy, on July 14th at the Parco della Musica in Milan. The band is made up of Black Francis (vocals and guitar), Emma Richardson (Bass), David Lovering (battery) e Joey Santiago (guitar).
