Pinpilinpussies sing about audiovisual precariousness in “Cantar Motor”

After breaking the silence with “Don’t forget me”, Pinpilinpussies deliver “Cantar Motor”, the second preview of what will become their third full-length album. The complete work will arrive next October 21 through the Barcelona label Aloud Music.

If in their previous installment they focused on lack of communication and disagreement, this time the Catalan-Basque Rachel and Anne They direct their gaze towards the scenes of the audiovisual universe. “Cantar Motor” delves into the shadows of production and cinema to make visible the precariousness, extreme exhaustion and anxiety that are often masked behind the professional vocation. Born from her own career in the sector, the song stands as a proclamation and a direct tribute to her workers:

“It is especially dedicated to all the techniques of the audiovisual sector, that despite putting our all into what we do with passion, we endure endless days, lack of rest, difficulties in reconciling life outside of work, abuses of different kinds… And even so we go out to film with a backpack full of redbulls, but with a smile, because at least camaraderie means that together we can improve our conditions. Little by little, companions, but we will achieve it. Let’s sing! Motor!, but this time as a collective celebration.”

Regarding production, Pinpilinpussies once again opt for the raw sound that defines them. The recording, mixing and mastering has been carried out by Urtzi Iza in Eten Espazio Sonoro. The graphic section once again bears the distinctive seal of Ari Schneider (@amerwall), while the production company GREYHOUND repeats in the co-production of the video clip.

Since the release of their debut EP “80/B” (19), the group has demonstrated an incendiary staging that soon made them a revelation at events such as BAM, Villa de Bilbao or Primavera Weekender. Not even the pandemic stoppage after editing Strength 3 (2020) stopped them, becoming the first band in Aloud’s catalog to perform at the Eurosonic in Holland, and then conquer European venues such as A38 in Budapest or competitions such as BIME and Primavera Sound. Your recent resume is completed with the LP “HYPOCHONDRIA” (22) and the set “EZ/NO” (23). After publishing the 7” EP in 2024Not a step back” (also recorded with Urtzi Iza) and touring alongside international icons such as The Breeders, his filming on stage has included sold outs at Sidecar (Barcelona), Kutxa Beltza (Bilbao) and Maravillas (Madrid), appearances at festivals such as Ebrovisión or Glad is the Day, opening for Refused at the Atabal in Biarritz and dates shared with La Paloma or Bala at Paral·lel 62.
