Peter Gabriel at the Verona Arena: a show to relive
There are names that will never leave you indifferent. Like Peter Gabriel. The visionary former Genesis frontman wanted to transform the evening of September 26, 2010, when he took the stage at theVerona Arena: comes out today “Taking the pulse“.
In the concert film, Gabriel performs – accompanied by New Blood Orchestra – the songs from his ninth studio album, “New blood”. And he does it as always in his own way: no guitars, no drums, just the evocative power of a 50-piece orchestra, conducted by Ben Foster. An experiment born from the collaboration between Gabriel and the arranger John Metcalfe, who gave new life to the songs: from “Rhythm of the heat”, the opening track, to “Solsbury Hill”, which involved the Arena audience in a ritual of collective participation.
Behind him, the screens project suggestive animations, an integral part of Gabriel’s show. The film “Taking the pulse” is directed instead Anna Gabrieldaughter of Peter.
